The Licensed Salon Leader is a key position within the salon, managing both operational and staff functions, and due to the possession of a valid Pennsylvania Cosmetology license, they can be more hands-on with the hair consultant team.

Philip Pelusi Salons rely upon the Salon Leader to model enthusiasm, professionalism, and team spirit to their team.  Operational duties include promoting company policies and procedures, managing inventory, and salon appearance.  Staff managerial responsibilities include recruitment, training and development, employee relations, and scheduling.  As a licensed manager, you may also assist with client services, do hands-on training and provide client focused support when needed.  The focus of this job is making connections with people, motivating and inspiring them to achieve results.  Poise, enthusiasm, and an engaging communication style are the keys to success in this position.   The job requires a high degree of "selling", whether of ideas and policies within the organization, or products or services in the marketplace.

A self-confident, extroverted style that can enliven, engage and positively impact individuals and groups is essential.  In general, the core of this position requires a motivated and motivating team builder and organization developer.

Duties:

  • Strong managerial skills and the ability to maintain a professional, positive demeanor at all times
  • Understand and achieve salon sales and profitability objectives
  • Strong customer service orientation, and the ability to resolve customer complaints
  • The ability to sell both ideas and products to employees and clients
  • Represent the salon at corporate and local meetings as needed
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing goals in a dynamic work environment
  • Support client service by assisting designers with style sessions and providing hands-on training as needed
  • Ensure that opening, closing and front desk procedures are followed accurately
  • Maintain employee schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels
  • Maintain cleanliness of salon
  • Ensure that all customer service objectives are met
  • Enforce workplace policies and procedures
  • Follow established security and cash management policies
  • Ensure that the salon work environment is safe
  • Maintain and monitor salon product inventory and ensure that sales goals for inventory are met

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, advanced education preferred
  • Current PA Cosmetologist, Manager or Teacher's license
  • A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience, in Hair Salon, retail, hospitality, or a sales/customer service environment
  • Proven ability to set staffing levels to meet operating/productivity objectives
  • Ability to perform calculations of percentages, addition, subtraction, and the ability to do sales reports and computations
  • Demonstrated experience conducting basic employee training and instruction
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet objectives and follow up on assignments
  • Must present a personal professional and style conscious appearance by meeting company standards for fashion and appearance
